Mary Shepard Wong is Associate Professor and Director of the graduate Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) Field-based Programs at Azusa Pacific University. She is past chair of the Christian Educators in TESOL Caucus (2004-2005).
Suresh Canagarajah is Kirby Professor of Language Learning at Pennsylvania State University. He is the editor of the journal TESOL Quarterly.

This book provides relevant and useful topics in the current EFL and ESL setting. Raising questions about the ethics involved with teaching English, the "means to an ends" approach by some in hopes of just sharing their faith in God, evaluating whether the fact of being a native speaker alone equips someone for effective teaching of English, the historical perspective of colonization, and much more. This book provides input from a variety of different authors who hold a variety of religious perspectives. A good reflection for any EFL/ESL teacher but especially for Christian teachers as a call to be equipped in their professional vocation.
