Excellent Book!

If you get one or two really good ideas out of a book, then it was worth reading. What do you say about a book from which you get dozens of good ideas? That is John Shosky's book. He begins with a truth that many speakers forget: speeches are about the audience. Shosky provides concrete ways for how to write memorable speeches, how to practice speaking, what to research for a speech, and so forth. He also provides text from some of the greatest speeches in history, examining what made them great, and how you can incorporate these techniques into your own speeches. I've read a number of books on the topic, and this one is by far the best.

This book is a game changer. Both David and his wife Amanda have written amazing books. Her's is called Motivated to Love. Both of these books have drastically changed the course of my life. I was going to file for divorce two days before I read this book. Having the knowledge of this book totally changed my mind and opened up my eyes to what was really going on with my husband. After reading David's book, I read Amanda's immediately. I highly recommend both books. I can honestly say that I would not been married today if it were not for this book and their ministry. The book is an honest tell-all. I highly recommend this book. If you are reading this review, then there is part of you that wants to save your marriage. Please buy the book and read it.

I have both David's and his wife Amanda's books. Two different ways of approaching dealing with a reluctant spouse. David's book was so helpful because it really helped me see that the issue was not about me. I have come to understand my husbands pain, even if he does not. I know how to pray for him and I know how to be strategic in dealing with him. It isn't about being phony either. With Amanda's book you transform your mind/spirit to be more like Christ. With David's book you learn how to demonstrate that transformation in a non-threatening way to your spouse. The both of them have been a true blessing. This couple proves that God works it all together for our good. The trials they went through have saved thousands of people from giving up on God's plan. When dealing with the topic of troubled marriages and what to do when you simply don't know what to do, it is hard to find information that speaks directly to your heart and situation. This book does that and more. It helps you to be able to take a look past the hurt and pain to see the heart of the reluctant spouse. It is written is a clear and concise way that just answers the questions that all standing spouses have. This book helped me to know more about my spouse and want to know even more about the things that are causing him pain. I would highly recommend this book as well as his wife's book "Motivated to Love". Together these two books will give you strength and strategies to help yourself, your spouse and your marriage.

Spanish Made Simple Works!!!

Spanish Made Simple is the absolutely best book for learning to speak and read contemporary Spanish. The book is written in the form of a interesting novel with the vocabulary and grammar seeded into the captivating narrative. Beginning with absolutely no knowledge of Spanish, I was able to converse on everyday topics within a few months. After two years of self-study, I tested out of 8 hours Spanish at the local community college. If you want to learn Spanish, this is the book to get. It worked for me. It will work for you.

A great book for beginners

The format lends itself for easy learning of vocabulary. Grammar sections are clear but not too technical for an average learner. The ongoing story is interesting and informative. I use the book extensively for review, although I have learned enough that my level of knowledge is beyond the level of the book. I used it to learn the language on my own, but it would be an excellent text for classroom work. There are ample exercises and to do the exercises does much to learn and retain the language.

Director Brad Bird's take on Ted Hughes' memorable 1968 tale, The Iron Giant, differs substantially from the story. So much so, that the book and the film may not have the same audience. Then again, those taken with the movie will likely want to explore the brief (80 page) book. This recent paperback edition features a beautiful cover drawn from the Warner Bros. movie, although the story is Hughes' original. Priced far below the lavish library volumes, this edition may be the best of both worlds, providing a look at the film's inspiration for the Iron Giant's many curious fans.

A funny, exciting book that teaches about war and peace.

I think this is a really good book, so I think you should read it.
It was very funny sometimes, like when the seagulls found the giant in tiny pieces, and he came up with a funny way to find all his parts!
It was very exciting. The Iron Giant has to go into fire against a space monster that is bothering the world.
This book teaches about living in peace and not having so many wars. I am 71/2 years old, and it was not too hard for me to read by myself.

This book provides relevant and useful topics in the current EFL and ESL setting. Raising questions about the ethics involved with teaching English, the "means to an ends" approach by some in hopes of just sharing their faith in God, evaluating whether the fact of being a native speaker alone equips someone for effective teaching of English, the historical perspective of colonization, and much more. This book provides input from a variety of different authors who hold a variety of religious perspectives. A good reflection for any EFL/ESL teacher but especially for Christian teachers as a call to be equipped in their professional vocation.
